Community Smyrna

Nestled just outside downtown Atlanta, beautiful Smyrna is home to more than 56,000 residents. Its population count has increased significantly since the early 2000s, making it one of the fastest growing cities in the entire state.

Smyrna’s location offers easy access to city amenities combined with a wide selection of affordable housing options. This makes it a very desirable option for everyone from young families to baby boomers to urbanites looking for more space.

While its close proximity to downtown Atlanta is definitely a huge plus, the city isn’t without its own share of attractions – you’ll find scenic parks and walking trails as well as fantastic shopping and dining venues. It hosts plenty of fun festivals throughout the year as well.

Another thing that makes Smyrna such a wonderful place to call home is its stunning setting. Trust me – this city is incredibly beautiful! Nicknamed “The Jonquil City” for the thousands of jonquils that bloom here in the spring, Smyrna spreads out over terrain displaying distinct characteristics of Georgia’s Piedmont region, with narrow valleys, gently sloping uplands, and hills with broad ridges.

One of the things I love about Smyrna’s local real estate market is its diversity – buyers can find almost anything, including affordable townhomes and condos, single-family homes in gated neighborhoods, and luxurious estates with the plushest features.

Properties here are available in a variety of elegant architectural styles, which give every neighborhood its own distinct charm. Aside from the signature brick façade homes, you’ll also find neo-traditional, Victorian, mid-century modern, Colonial, Craftsman, and more.

Buyers searching for the perfect neighborhood will find plenty of great options as well. Many of the well-loved neighborhoods boast a family-friendly environment and regularly hold all kinds of activities and community events.

Some of the city’s most well-known neighborhoods include:

  • Village Green – Smyrna’s Village Green serves as the venue for many of the city’s events and celebrations. This beautifully landscaped site is home to the City Hall and Town Center, which features retail options, office spaces, private housing, a library, and a community center.
  • Silver Comet Trail – Outdoor lovers in Smyrna will love visiting the Silver Comet Trail, a picturesque trail designed for walkers, joggers, bikers, and horseback riders. The trail follows the path of the original Silver Comet Passenger Train, which stretches for about 60 miles west of Smyrna towards the Georgia/Alabama state line.
