Community Powder Springs

Powder Springs is a city in southwestern Cobb County, located about 25 miles from downtown Atlanta. Originally incorporated as Springville, the city was eventually renamed Gunpowder Springs after the gunpowder-like sands that surround its mineral-rich streams. The name was changed to Powder Springs in 1859.

Powder Springs has a very laid-back vibe and is a great choice for anyone looking to live in a small-town environment less than an hour away from big city amenities. Residents here get access to museums, a variety of specialty shops, Old Towne Square, and a network of multipurpose trails connecting to the Silver Comet Trail.

Its historic downtown area is the heart of the city; a vibrant hub for entertainment and recreation. This is where most of the city’s annual events take place. Powder Springs residents look forward to an exciting lineup of community events every year, which include everything from festivals and parades to fun runs and live performances.
